(Digiscoping Press Release)

Brockville - Well known area nature photographer, Marty Burke, will give a presentation on the subject of ’Digiscoping’ at the May monthly meeting of the Brockville Independent Computer Club (BICC). Digiscoping is a relatively new technique for achieving high-powered, telephoto images. This process uses a camera (dSLR, point & shoot or SLR) attached to a telescope to obtain astounding results at a fraction of the cost of traditional prime, extreme long range lenses. Marty will be demonstrating this equipment in tutorial format for an appreciation of its capabilities. As part of Marty’s talk, he will be including a multimedia slide show of recent nature photography some of which was captured using such a device. For those with an interest in photography, this is a ‘must attend’ opportunity not to be missed! Guests welcomed.

Marty Burke is an award winning photographer and was recently chosen by the International Society of Photographers to receive their 2007 Editor’s Choice Award in Las Vegas. Marty is a frequent contributor to numerous newspapers, periodicals and other media. He is currently president of the Rideau Lakes Camera Club.

Mark your calendar to attend this exciting presentation as part of the BICC monthly meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. on May 14, 2008. All regular meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month at the Fulford Academy on King Street East.
