Organization

BICC is an acronym for Brockville Independent Computer Club. It is currently the only user group for owners of Personal Computers in Leeds & Grenville. BICC holds regular monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. The meeting location is posted on the club’s Internet website at http://www.biccweb.com/ which is used for information on club activities.

Objectives

  • Provide an environment where members can expand their computer knowledge.

  • Promote the most effective methods of using the Internet.

  • Encourage members to help each other solve their computer problems.

 

Concept

BICC is based on the idea that members share their knowledge and help each other learn about computers. Members are encouraged to participate by doing one of the following:

  • Arrange for a guest speaker for a meeting

  • Do a presentation at a meeting

  • Arrange a tour of a major computer related installation

  • Participate in a team project and demonstrate findings at a meeting

  • Participate in a team project and document findings in Contributions on the website

  • Do a project alone and demonstrate findings at a meeting

  • Do a project alone and document findings in Contributions on the website

  • Write a knowledgeable article for the Contributions area of the website

  • Volunteer to perform a task on a committee

  • Run for office at election time.

 

Membership Dues

Twenty-five dollars per year due on the first of March of each year. New members joining after the first of March pay a pro-rated amount.

 

Policy

All BICC rules and regulations are enforced according to the club Constitution.

Information provided on the application will not be released to any organization or individual outside of BICC (e.g. - mailing lists)

A list of members and their email address is posted in the members only area of the BICC website. Members have the option of having their email address hidden.
